Summer Series: Game Over, Play Again?

Paul is on house arrest in Rome, he's writing to a Christian benefactor named Philemon in Colossae, whom Paul had led to faith. The occasion for the letter surrounds the fact that Onesimus, a slave of Philemon has escaped. Now a fugitive slave, Onesimus rendezvoused with Paul in Rome. Paul, having led Onesimus to faith while in Rome, endeavors to reconcile Philemon & Onesimus, his two sons in the Christian faith. The complexity for Paul is navigating the contours of Roman Law, Jewish Law, while forging a third way: the law of Christ. Reconciliation is messy, difficult & taxing but it's our calling at Reconcile LA.
