Cadence - Galatians 5:16-18 (1 of 11)

Jul 6, 2025    Pastor Daryl

As we launch the new Summer Sermon Series, we begin in Galatians 5:16-18. We're challenged to embrace a life led by the Holy Spirit. The central message revolves around the ongoing battle between our flesh (our sinful nature) and the Spirit of God within us. We're called to actively choose to 'walk by the Spirit,' which is likened to using a walker or cane - it's our support system for righteous living. This active choice allows us to be passively led by the Spirit, resulting in victory over our sinful desires. The imagery of two knights battling to the death vividly illustrates this internal conflict. As we surrender to the Spirit's guidance, we're no longer bound by the law (Torah) but freed to live in God's grace. This message encourages us to daily submit ourselves to the Spirit's leading, recognizing that our strength comes not from our own determination, but from our willingness to be guided by God.
