2026 Holy Week: 1 Corinthians 15:1-28 (Part 1)

What if everything we believe about our faith hinges on one historical event? This powerful exploration of 1 Corinthians 15 challenges us to examine the absolute centrality of the resurrection to our entire belief system. Just as the Declaration of Independence identifies life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as unalienable rights without which America cannot exist, the gospel without the resurrection simply cannot save. We're confronted with a sobering reality: if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, our faith is in vain, and we remain dead in our sins. The message walks us through five aspects of the gospel—it is preached, received, stood upon, saves us continually, and must be held onto tightly. We discover that salvation is not merely a past event but an ongoing reality: we have been saved through justification, we are being saved through sanctification, and we will be saved through glorification. The resurrection proves that Jesus had the spiritual collateral to pay for our sins—without it, the cross is just a bad Friday. This isn't abstract theology; it's the foundation upon which our eternal hope rests. We're called to hold onto this truth as if our very lives depend on it, because they do.
