how it all started...

The narrative of our church began on September 10, 2011. That was the day Pastor Daryl and a handful of enthusiasts planted Victory Christian Fellowship in Santa Monica, CA. After three exciting years of ministry, Daryl felt the Lord’s leading to transition from the African-American Baptist Church context that he was born and raised in, and explore the multiethnic church movement.

a chance meeting...

Sensing the need to get more church planting experience and exposure to the multiethnic church, Daryl embarked upon two church planting residencies at Resonate Church LA + Fellowship Church Monrovia.

While at Fellowship Church, Daryl bumped into an old friend Pastor Michael McIntire. Daryl and Michael were colleagues at Talbot School of Theology. Both were Master of Divinity students and they shared a love of ministry, God’s word, the Church, their Jewish wives and daughters, and UCLA Bruins football.

At a Downtown LA Starbucks, Michael shared that he had recently resigned his associate pastoral position at his predominately Caucasian Brethren church in South Pasadena. Daryl pitched Michael on the idea of co-planting a multiethnic church in Central LA. After much prayer, dreaming, collaboration, and wives-convincing — Reconcile Church LA was launched on September 9, 2018. Fellowship Monrovia agreed to served as our Mother Church.

what God did next...

In March 2020 after a memorable eighteen months of the ministry,  the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a screeching halt. After transitioning to exclusively online services for nearly three years, we reopened the church for in-person services on January 8, 2023.
